The Hotel
Welcome to El Tucano Hotel
El Tucano Hotel’s main guest is Mother Nature. The hotel has 87 rooms, including two luxury suites, though the real luxury is the chance to take a bath in its thermal waters. Featuring a 500 people capacity restaurant and conference halls for 200 people, both areas are surrounded by the primary forest housing a countless variety of flora and fauna.
El Tucano Hotel has one of the most complete spas in Latin America where all visitors renew their bodies and souls thanks to the communion received by the gifts of nature.

In its extension of almost 7 acres of land and 9000 m2 of construction are produced 80 liters of water per second flowing from the 7 springs of thermal waters.
The hotel has three hot springs pools recently remodeled and a hot water river with wonderful waterfalls and natural pools (surrounded the whole property), guests can swim in and let the river take all its problems while they get renew with its powerful energy.There is also a tennis field, several trails through the forest and minigolf area, though the best activity to practice at El Tucano is relaxation while contemplating the great masterpiece that surrounds it.

- Take time: Give yourself plenty of time before your massage so you can relax thoroughly in the warming environments of Therma Spa. Warm muscles benefit most from bodywork.
- Shower: A warm shower just before your massage washes off any salts, minerals or chemicals that could clog pores when mixed with massage oils. After your shower, put on your robe and take some time in the relaxation lounge
- (Un)Dress the part: Unless the service description specifies that your massage is received clothed, undress completely and wear just a robe to your massage. You will be able to take your robe off and cover yourself in privacy. You will be draped with a sheet throughout the service. For services that are received clothed, shorts and a T-shirt are ideal.
- Talk with you therapist: Before your massage begins, tell your therapist which areas you would like to focus on, and any areas to be avoided. During your massage, let the therapist know if you feel any discomfort. Communication is the key to getting the massage you want.
- “Deeper” Doesn´necessarily mean better: Our superb bodywork staff is eclectic, multi-talented and devoted to giving you a massage that will satisfy your needs. Please communicate with your therapist and allow the therapist to “listen” to your body.
- Relax: Close your eyes and allow your mind and body to be quiet. Focus on how you feel. Breathe deeply and let tension slip away with each breath. Remember, this time is for you.

Thermal Waters
El Tucano Hotel has its own hot water natural flow
El Tucano Resort and Thermal Spa, owns its name to the thermal mineral waters, which turn the whole property into a natural spa, making the river and the springs, the greatest wealth of this rainforest resort.There is a big amount of natural births of thermal waters around the world, many of them related to volcanic activity. Hot springs in Costa Rica have different temperatures, flow rates and mineral content; these are found in the surroundings of the Arenal, Irazu, Miravalles and Rincon de la Vieja volcanoes.However, the perfect combination of volume, temperature and mineral content presented by our hotel natural hot springs is truly privileged. Hot springs are considered a natural expression of energy inherent to the planet. Into the property can be found seven thermal springs flowing at 50°C (122°F). The total volume generated by them is 80 liters per second (20 gallons per second).
The resort’s hot springs have true benefits for the body. Bathing in thermal waters increases body temperature, kills germs, including viruses, increases blood circulation and oxygenation. This increase in temperature helps to dissolve and eliminate toxins from the body.Some of the chronic diseases benefited with the use of balneotherapy are:

Location
One of the most famous places in Costa Rica is San Carlos, in the province of Alajuela, known for having the Arenal Volcano, considered one of the 10 most attractive volcanoes, thanks to its constant activity, its perfect cone and the volcanic hot springs found in the area.
In Aguas Zarcas de San Carlos, a few kilometers from Arenal Volcano is located Hotel Tucano.
